La Flōr is a permitted, boutique dispensary built by people who live here, on a street we have driven our whole lives.
A note on our opening
After a longer road than we first expected, we are thrilled to say that La Flōr is open. Our Fairfax storefront opened Friday, August 7.
Fairfax is our home, so we want to be open about the path here. Late last year the project met some real headwinds after the adjacent dry cleaning business next door closed down, and we decided to take over the full retail space at 1601 Sir Francis Drake, not just the Mauro's Pizza half. Our neighbors had raised thoughtful concerns about parking in the area, so we made a decision. Rather than do the minimum, we chose to take over the entire site. That gave us the room to provide adequate parking and to build the kind of space our town deserves.
It added time and cost to our buildout, and the fire sprinkler and alarm system we were required to add was a doozy. Ultimately we believe it was the right call for Fairfax, and we remain grateful for the opportunity and confidence the community has blessed us with. Not to mention for the wonderful and hardworking staff we have had the pleasure of working with at the Town of Fairfax and at our Ross Valley Fire Department these past couple of years.
Today we are ready to hit the ground running. We could not be prouder of what La Flōr has become, and we are confident it will be a beautiful and welcome addition to our town. Thank you for being part of the journey. We cannot wait to open our doors.
Who is behind La Flōr
La Flōr was created by Martin Kaufman, a lifelong local resident, parent, and a longtime California cannabis operator. Martin co-founded Blüm, Grasslands at Outside Lands in San Francisco, Cookies Oakland, Edgewater Gardens, and Cabissi in Uganda, and he has spent years working inside California's regulated cannabis system rather than around it.
That background shapes what we are building here. Every product on our shelves comes through the licensed supply chain and is tested and tracked. Our team knows to answer questions without ever pressuring anyone to make a purchase. And because so many of us are already part of our great community, not to mention parents, we hold ourselves to the standard we would want as neighbors.
La Flōr is operated by Marin Retail Ventures LLC under California license C10-0001670-LIC, at 1601 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Fairfax. La Flōr is not affiliated with any other operators or businesses.
The space
Walnut, marble, and daylight. We wanted a room that feels closer to a well-made apothecary than a dispensary, calm, unhurried, and easy to ask questions in. Taking the full site also let us build the parking the neighborhood asked for, which was the single most common concern we heard.

Qualified medical patients 18 and older can shop our storefront counter in person, and delivery across Marin is open to adults 21 and older with a valid ID, or 18 and older with a valid medical recommendation.
