First time? You are in the right place.
Nobody is going to talk over your head or push you toward the strongest thing on the shelf. Here is exactly what to expect.
What to bring
- A valid photo ID. Government issued and unexpired. Every visit, every order, no exceptions.
- Your medical recommendation, if you are shopping the storefront. Current and from a California physician.
- Nothing else. Card and debit work through our menu.
What actually happens
- 1. We check your ID at the door. This takes a moment and it happens to everyone, every time.
- 2. Someone says hello and asks what you are after. "I have no idea" is a completely normal answer and one we hear every day.
- 3. We talk about how you want to feel and how you like to consume, not about THC percentages.
- 4. You buy something, or you do not. Both are fine.
Three things worth knowing
The biggest number is not the best product
THC percentage is not a quality score. Plenty of the most enjoyable flower on our shelf is not the strongest, and the strongest is rarely what we would hand a first-timer.
Edibles take their time
Thirty minutes to two hours. The classic mistake is taking more because nothing has happened yet. Our edibles guide covers this properly.
Start smaller than you think
You can always have more tomorrow. Nobody has ever regretted starting low.
Two ways to shop
If you hold a California medical card, come to the counter at 1601 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Fairfax. If you do not, delivery is open to you: anyone 21 and older can order across Marin, or 18 and older with a medical recommendation, with the same menu and the same prices. That split is what the Town permits today, and we are working to change it.

Getting a medical cannabis recommendation

Common first-time questions
- What do I need to bring to a dispensary in Fairfax?
- A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. To shop inside the La Flōr storefront you also need a current California medical recommendation, because the Town of Fairfax permits medical retail at our location today. For delivery anywhere in Marin, a valid ID alone is enough if you are 21 or older, and adults 18 and older can order with a valid medical recommendation.
- Is there a first-time customer deal at La Flōr?

- Will someone help me choose, or do I have to already know what I want?
- You do not need to know anything. Our team will walk you through categories, formats, and price points at whatever pace suits you. Nobody here works on commission.
- How much should I spend on my first visit?
- Less than you might think. We would rather sell you one small thing that suits you than a large thing that does not. Tell us your budget and we will work inside it.
